Each month, Jamin has a family home project for school. His March project was a leprechaun trap. We learned that leprechauns are attracted to shiny & sparkly things and that they often disobey signs. We could use either a tissue box or shoe box to construct our trap.
After two failed models, we created the "Pot o' Goldmine."
The leprechaun is drawn to the sparkly green shamrock and the promise of gold. Then he sees the sign and decides he must climb that ladder.
Once he climbs on top of the gold roof, he sees gold coins in the mine chute and jumps in. Mr. Leprechaun falls into the net and gets trapped. Jamin can then pull him out by lifting the top part of the box. Tah-dah!
