Heat

Now that we're well into our first Arizona summer, people often ask us, "How are you doing with the heat?"

We're doing great, mostly thanks to a few tricks:

1. Starting early. We head out for errands, outside chores, and many other activities in the morning. The air still feels warm, but the sun isn't intense yet. It's how we avoid scorching seat belts, tons of sweat, and burning hot playground equipment... well, some of the time.

2. Making the most of the evening. Summer nights feel amazing here, so sunset strolls and bike rides are a favorite way to get out and burn some energy.

3. Swimming. We swim a lot. The kids and I spend most afternoons in the pool. If Scott gets home from work early enough, he takes them swimming again. And when the kids are settled in bed, the two of us jump in for some night swimming.

We all love the water, so we're actually enjoying the heat simply because of the opportunities to hit the pool.

Maybe that makes us a little crazy... but we're blissfully crazy.
