Sibling time

The kids have spent lots of time with each other this summer. Despite the inevitable bickering that comes with so much togetherness, their friendship seems to have strengthened during this long stretch of days.

Libby and Benjamin have become obsessed with dinosaurs. As soon as they get to the library, they head straight to the natural science section. They pore over their new books for days, teaching each other what they discover.

Ben's next stop at the library is the children's fiction section, where he meets up with Travis. These two pick chapter book series that they both enjoy. They read, swap, and discuss their novels.

Travis and Libby sit together at the computer and design Mario game levels. They laugh as they challenge each other to harder courses. When screen time is over, they draw mock "levels" on paper. It's pretty hilarious.

For the most part, all three are intensely interested in what their siblings are doing. So they spend the majority of their hours together. As a group, they build legos, draw, catch bugs, wrestle, play card games, swim, and explore the yard.

I hope that all this quantity time leads to great memories and a rock-solid bond.
